In 2018, when I was 18, I started a local online grocery delivery business. I ran it through 2020, helping people buy from independent food producers and suppliers around the North East.
It grew into a proper local story, with coverage from BBC Newcastle, Look North and The Chronicle, and a nomination for North East Young Entrepreneur of the Year. I learned a lot by doing — including how quickly a simple idea becomes a logistics problem.
From 2020 to June 2025, I did what I think of as “work that teaches you things”: B2B energy, recruitment, delivery shifts and driving for Uber. Each role gave me a different view of how people make decisions, how businesses operate, and what matters when the work gets real.
Since June 2025 I’ve been building Blue Onion with a focus on helping businesses make sense of AI. I speak about the practical choices: what to use, what to protect, and how to make a new tool genuinely useful to the people doing the work.
